Therapy is beneficial at all levels of anxiety. Whether you're dealing with occasional stress or more persistent anxiety, therapy offers tools to manage and overcome these challenges.

-
Absolutely. In therapy, we can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences to uncover the roots of your anxiety. Even if the cause isn't immediately clear, therapy can provide valuable insights and tools for managing and overcoming anxiety.
-
Yes, absolutely. Anxiety therapy is not limited to diagnosed conditions. If anxiety is impacting your life, relationships, or well-being, therapy can offer valuable support and strategies, regardless of a formal diagnosis.
-
The choice depends on your personal situation. Individual therapy is tailored to your specific needs, while couples therapy can address how anxiety impacts your relationship dynamics. We can discuss which option aligns best with your goals.
-
Medication is one option, but not a requirement. Anxiety therapy often involves talk therapy, coping strategies, and lifestyle changes. If needed, we can discuss the possibility of medication in collaboration with a healthcare provider. We usually work with a client presenting for anxiety for a while, and if after implementing coping strategies and lifestyle changes, the client still reports great difficulty managing the intensity of an anxiety episode, we collaborate with that client to discuss the option of adding medication. We’ve seen medication help many of our clients! But it also hasn’t been necessary for all of our clients presenting with anxiety. We have a psychiatric nurse practitioner who we refer out to for psychiatric medication because we know and trust her holistic, research-based, caring, and thorough approach to patient care.
-
It's normal to feel hesitant. Therapy progresses at your pace, and we can gradually explore personal details as you become more comfortable. Trust is essential, and our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment.
-
Absolutely. Family involvement can be beneficial, especially if anxiety affects your relationships. We can discuss the possibility of family sessions or ways to include your loved ones in the therapeutic process.
-
In general, anxiety therapy is not restricted by age. It can be beneficial for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. The approach may vary based on age and developmental stage, ensuring tailored support for each individual. At Liz Davis Therapy, we choose to only work with adult clients ages 18 years old and older.
-
We'll work together to develop personalized strategies you can use between sessions. These may include relaxation techniques, mindfulness exercises, or specific coping mechanisms to help manage anxiety in your day-to-day life. We always work collaboratively with our clients to ensure that any coping strategies we come up with together are truly realistic and actionable for that specific client, their lifestyle and life circumstances, and their schedule.
-
Absolutely. Anxiety therapy addresses stress from various sources, including the workplace. We can explore strategies to manage work-related stress, improve performance, and create a healthier work-life balance.
