Let’s unpack all the things.

Liz Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas City, MO.

I’m Liz and I Like to Listen.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Missouri and Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas. I also provide coaching services to out-of-state clients in the United States.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples. I’ve been a listener and a helper for as long as I can remember. I could tell you about all of my credentials, but I’d rather just tell you about myself because I believe the therapist/client relationship requires a good fit, and I want you to know who I am.

I am an open-minded, free-spirited, accepting, vulnerable, non-judgmental, and authentic human being. Get to know more about me as a person and how I work by scrolling down to the bottom of this page! I believe we all need, and crave, a person to really see, hear, and understand us.

I Would Love To Be Your Person.

I’m here if you’re ready to explore your past and figure out what makes you you, or if you want to dissect the present and figure out how to improve your current circumstances. I’m also here to be a sounding board if you just need someone to talk to.

I Want To Listen To You. I Can Help.

I know finding a therapist is a pain, so if we’re not a good fit, I want to help you find someone who is.

If we’re not a perfect match, let me know in our first session, and I will be happy to provide you with quality referrals.

If we are a great fit, I cannot wait to get to know you!

Let’s do this together.

I’ve been seeing Liz for like almost four years now. She’s literally the best therapist. I’ve referred my best friend to her, two of my colleagues, and my mom. They all love her. I asked her if I could write this review so that others know what an amazing job she really does.

She/Her/Hers

The Person. I’m a bit of a nerd. I love reading and going down internet rabbit holes on all things psychology, neuroscience, anything science, self-help, spirituality, and wellness. I have a creative and artistic spirit, but I can’t draw or paint worth a damn. Instead, I enjoy decorating my aesthetic spaces and getting dressed in the morning. I love listening to podcasts, especially in the healing and wellness realm. I am currently obsessed with the Enneagram and Polyvagal Theory. I am passionate about processing trauma, healing from depression and chronic anxiety, LBGTQIA+ issues, and processing family issues and dynamics. I am a sex-positive clinician and enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. Learn more about my cultural identity here.

The Clinician. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Missouri and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kansas. I received my Master’s degree from Friends University in Kansas City where I was an executive member of the Delta Kappa honor society and a winner of the Sheldon Louthan Award for Outstanding Graduate Student in Family Therapy. Learn more about me as a clinician through this Canvas Rebel online magazine article here!

The Approach. My therapeutic approach is pretty eclectic, as I pull from a number of different theories and modalities. Overall, I emphasize understanding and processing family issues, attachment theory, self-esteem and self-compassion work, values exploration, emotional processing, and just basically getting to know yourself on a deeper and more intimate level so that you can build a more loving and accepting relationship with yourself and manifest a life that is in line with your authentic self. Additionally, I care about relationships. I believe that relationships are what make our lives worth living. Whether those relationships are with yourself, friends, family, co-workers, partners, employers, or anyone else, I want to help you improve the relationships in your life. I love helping couples understand one another and communicate better, and guide them as they move through the various stages of intimate relationships. They say relationships take work, and I want to do that work with you. Feel free to explore my blog to get an insight into how I think, feel, and work!
